“Bird Talk…”

A Cardinal and a Chickadee are sitting in a tree

discussing the latest post…

Conversing, it seems,

or maybe not,

as it might qualify as heckling.

“Just be yourself,” the Cardinal sings,

“and let your Light shine through…”

“Be honest, though,” the Chickadee warns,

its melody so sweet,

“for I will find you out.

I see the Truth behind your masks;

I know what you’re about!”

And sounding out, a raucous croak

as Raven joins the band:

“Shifting forms will serve you well,

for change is close at hand.”

And blowing in on a rush of wings,

a loud caw sounding off:

“You’re not alone, after all,” says Crow,

“This time we heed your call!”

And high above, a perfect sky,

false spring is in the air.

A Hawk is circling lazily

while hunting for his dinner.

Eavesdropping on the conversation

in the winter-worn maple tree,

he can’t resist joining in

by asking,

“Is that message meant for Me?”

And far away, in the distant south

a Condor turns its head…

“The Ancient Ones will rise again,

each in their own Time.”

    • It is truly amazing what birds can teach us if we but stop and listen… 🙂

(BTW, I also love the ending! Lol! I have no idea where it came from, but there he was, bigger than life in my mind, speaking clearly, and in English… I had no choice but to include the Condor)
